Shelby Corso (b. 1997, New York City; works in London) received her BFA in painting from the Maryland Institute College of Art (MICA) in Baltimore, Maryland. Her interdisciplinary practice includes painting, drawing, sculpture, and photography. Corso’s work explores the semiotics and everyday poetics of girlhood, encompassing experiences of desire, sexuality, taste, and self-reflection through the lens of femininity. She uses imagery from fairytales and other fictional genres, pop culture, as well as images and objects from every day life.
